VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) -- Van Buren County Deputies plan to charge a 33-year-old Otsego resident with being a Super Drunk, that’s if he survives the crash.
They say an off-duty Decatur police officer first spotted the suspect weaving all over the road headed down 25th St. and saw him clip off a mailbox and not stop.
At 25th and Red Arrow, deputies say the drunk driver blew thru the stop sign, crossed both lanes and into a yard where it hit a stump and flipped over once, coming to rest on his wheels.
The driver had to be pried out of the smashed up Honda Pilot. He was stabilized at Lakeview and then shipped off to Bronson’s Trauma Unit for emergency surgery on internal injuries.
