KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Two people are dead and one is wounded after a homicidal Sunday morning in Kalaamzoo. Public Safety have arrested gunman in two separate shooting incidents in the city that happened just hours apart.

Public Safety got a call about shots fired at Lakes Edge Apartments just after 1AM and found evidence that two people had been wounded in the parking lot. One was transported to Bronson Emergency by someone at the party. That 23-year-old shooting victim later died from his wound. An 18-year-old who had also been shot was still at the scene. He was also rushed to the hospital and is expected to survive. Public Safety was able to get the identity of the 19-year-old triggerman and took him into custody. It apparently was the result of an argument that occurred during a party in the parking lot. The suspect is expected to be formally charged today.

About two hours later Officers responded to an assault complaint in the 700 block of W. Cedar Street at 3:23 Sunday Morning and found a 24-year-old Kalamazoo man suffering from extensive head trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been hit over the head by a blunt object, reportedly a barbell. The suspect was identified as his 34-year-old roommate, Apparently there was a fight between one of the roommates and his girlfriend, the other roommate intervened and violence and death was the result. The older roommate is sitting in the Kalamazoo County jail on an open murder charge, and is expected to be arraigned on Tuesday, according to Public Safety.

Stay tuned for updates.
