LANSING (WKZO) -- Nearly two-hundred thousand acres of land in Michigan could be used for fracking. The Department of Natural Resources will offer state-owned gas and oil rights for sale on October 24th.
Critics of the sale say fracking is unsafe and could possibly harm local groundwater. Ada Township is so concerned they have drafted a letter to the DNR asking they put off further sales until more studies have been done. They are also asking residents to educate themselves before allowing fracking or drilling on their property.
