DETROIT (WKZO) -- Detroiters feel that the reason there's so much crime in the city is due to a lack of police.
A new "Detroit News" poll shows that residents would pay more taxes to hire more officers and found that 49-percent of residents don't feel safe in their neighborhoods. 41-percent of residents identified a lack of police on patrols as the biggest safety problem, 23-percent said it was abandoned houses and ten-percent said gangs.
Roughly 60-percent of residents surveyed said they would pay more taxes for more police and firefighters.
