OAKLAND COUNTY (WKZO) -- A 22-year-old Oakland County man faces misdemeanor election fraud charges.

Over the summer John Scott collected signatures in an attempt to get his name on the ballot as a candidate for County Commissioner.  His name just happens to be the same as incumbent commissioner John Scott.

Commissioner Scott believes that petition collector Scott was trying to split the vote and confuse people.  Commissioner Scott also says that petitions to get the "other" Scott on the ballot may have been circulated, in part, at the behest of Alexandria Riley, the Democratic candidate for county commissioner hoping to unseat Commissioner Scott.
