LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan Department of Community Health confirms the state has 25 cases of fungal meningitis, including three deaths, linked to a multi-state outbreak among people who received contaminated steroid injections.

Michigan Pain Specialists in Brighton, Michigan Neurosurgical Institutes in Grand Blanc, Neuromuscular and Rehabilitation in Traverse City and Southeast Michigan Surgical Hospital in Warren have been identified as receiving recalled shipments of the steroids, and the four medical facilities are notifying patients who may be at risk for developing the illness.  A 56-year-old Genesse County woman, a 67-year-old Livingston County woman and a 78-year-old Washtenaw County woman have died due to the outbreak.

As of Tuesday, 119 cases and eleven deaths have been reported in ten states.
