KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Two of the suspects in the city of Kalamazoo's first homicide of the year have been sentenced to life in prison without parole. Steven Anderson and Robert Wright were charged with gunning down Romney Hunter in the 800-block of North Rose in retaliation for a beating and robbery that had occurred the month before.
The prosecutor contends that Anderson spotted Hunter working on a car on January 8th and recruited the other two to bring weapons to kill him. They were also given lengthy sentences for a variety of gun felonies. A third suspect has already been tried and sentenced.
