LANSING (WKZO) -- If current trends of underperforming schools continue, the Education Achievement Authority of Michigan could become the largest school district in the state in the next five years.  Projections outlined in a federal grant application indicate that up to 45-additional schools performing in the bottom five percent academically could fall under state authority.  That could bring the number of students in the state-run-district to approximately 46-thousand.
