KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The director of the Kalamazoo County Health and Human Services Department believes there will not be a lot more people sickened with fungal Meningitis caused by a tainted steroid shot.
Linda Vail tells WKZO.com those who have not displayed symptoms by now probably will not.
"Every day that goes by, you're less and less likely to have any effects from it," Vail said.
Medical experts believe only some individuals who received the tainted shot will contract Meningitis at all.
Two people in Michigan have died after receiving the shot meant to relieve back pain, then contracted the ailment.
Vail said the disease is typically treated with antibiotics.
The tainted shots were not administered in west Michigan.
