LANSING  (WKZO) -- Health officials now say that two Michigan residents have died from that national outbreak of fungal meningitis, bringing the national total to 7 deaths.

They have confirmed 90-cases nationwide and more are anticipated as they track down hundreds of back pain patients who received contaminated steroid shots from a Massachusetts manufacturer.

The number of cases in Michigan jumped from 6 to 20 over the weekend. They say all the doses delivered to Michigan went to three clinics in the Detroit area and one in Traverse City.

They say it’s not contagious, so only those who have received the steroid shots have to worry and they are all being tracked down and treated.
