KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo Public Safety is seeking the community's help to locate the gunman in the city's seventh murder of the year. A man identified as 24-year-old Jheryl Cecil Wright of Kalamazoo was shot several times as he left the Quick Stop Convenience Store in the 1400-block of Portage Street just after 3 a.m. Sunday.
Wright was taken to Bronson Hospital where he later died from his injuries. Public Safety says the suspect in the shooting is described as an 18 to 20-year-old black male that was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt at the time of the shooting.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Public Safety or Silent Observer.
