KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo City Commissioners have a couple of interesting items on their agenda tonight. They are expected to take final action on an ordinance that would make possession of small amounts of marijuana an offense that would earn you a ticket and a fine for a first time offense, and not a criminal arrest, a trip to jail and a full blown prosecution.Passage is anticipated.Commissioners are also expected to sign up to an intergovernmental effort organized by local police departments to create one joint unified Special Weapons and Tactics Team that would have members from all the different departments, as opposed to each department maintaining its own.They are hoping for savings and efficiencies from both proposals.
