VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) -- A Paw Paw man and his girlfriend are scheduled to be formally charged with multiple drug counts today. A parole officer asked the narcotics unit to come along on a surprise home visit yesterday, and it turned out that his suspicions were justified. At first the parolee refused to answer the door.
Officers spotted a number of discarded gas generators used to make meth partially burned in a trash barrel behind the home and they obtained a search warrant. The couple finally came out just before police got the warrant, and the subsequent search turned up meth and Marijuana and the chemicals required to make more meth.
They also found a handgun.
