KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- Court documents suggest that a baby found dead in a Kalamazoo Township apartment a week ago Sunday had numerous bruises and bite marks, some old some new, suggesting that the 4-month-old boy had been subjected to abuse for sometime.

The documents also show that the boy’s father, Tahj Lockett admitted to police that he had been “self-medicating” for mental issues with marijuana all-day on the day the baby suffered fatal injuries, and may have dropped the baby on its head on the day he died.

Lockett is being held for first degree child abuse but may be charged with more serious counts after pathologists have completed their report.
