GRAND RAPIDS  (WKZO) --  Grand Rapids police have recovered an older model Jeep said to be involved in an unusual hit and run, and are looking for the driver.

Officers say the female victim was either thrown or fell from the passenger side of the Jeep near the corner of Eastern and Merit, and was struck by the rear tire as she hit the pavement. 

The young woman in her 20’s suffered a head injury and a collapsed lung, and was listed in critical condition but reportedly talking with detectives. The bizarre incident happened about 5PM Saturday.

Police continue to investigate.
