COVERT (WKZO) -- A public meeting is set for next month in South Haven on the Palisades nuclear power plant.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold the event at the Beach Haven Center, and plans to talk about the results of the safety inspection findings recently at the Covert Township facility. The NRC says their inspection of the plant in September found employees and managers have addressed the problems that were found a year ago, but more work still needs to be done.
Palisades has been plagued by multiple shutdowns over the past few years, but most of the issues have been minor and both the NRC and plant officials insist the public and the employees have never been in any danger.
