KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Each year, the Butterball Turkey Hotline staff fields more than a million calls during the run-up to Thanksgiving, answering question after question about preparing the bird for the big feast.
Amy Raczka, one of the on-duty Butterball experts, tells WKZO the turkey thawing deadline is approaching, but it is not too late for folks planning to cook a turkey in time for dinner Thursday to get it thawed.
"You can still do a cold water thaw," she said. "You can thaw one pound every half hour in a sink of cold water."
Raczka has some advice for those who stuff their turkeys, as well.
"You don't want to pack the stuffing in there," she said. "You want to fill the cavity, but that stuffing expands."
