BRIGHTON (WKZO) -- The outbreak of fungal meningitis tied to tainted steroid injections has triggered a wave of lawsuits in federal court in Detroit.
Over the last month, 19 lawsuits have been filed, the last seven filed by prominent trial attorney Geoffrey Fieger. Those suits were filed on behalf of Michigan residents who became sick after receiving the injections at Michigan Pain Specialists in Brighton.
Officials say 150 people have been sickened throughout the state. Eight of those cases were deadly.
