KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo Township detectives are waiting on the preliminary results of an autopsy on a 4-month-old baby boy who died early Monday morning.
Officers responded to a unit at Somerset on the Hill Apartments in the West Douglas Neighborhood on a call that a baby wasn’t breathing. The child was rushed to Bronson Emergency where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation was prompted by information gleaned in the initial 9-1-1 call and from medical personnel who were involved in the case.
The father was taken into custody by the officers who responded to the call on an outstanding assault warrant not connected to the child’s death.
Anyone who may have insight or information on the case is urged to contact Kalamazoo Township Police.
