LANSING (WKZO) -- A new education funding proposal could fundamentally change education in Michigan.

The proposed Michigan Public Education Finance Act would allow Kindergarten through 12th grade students to choose school districts, make greater use of online learning and earn financial incentives per semester for completing high school early.  According to advisers for Governor Rick Snyder, the primary objective of overhauling the education funding law is to create career-ready citizens.

The draft bill is expected to be introduced as part of Snyder's budget presentation in February.
