COLOMA TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- A Benton Harbor man and his 4-year-old daughter were airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo after their car was crushed by an Amtrak train Saturday morning.

Anthony and Mikayla Bearty were reportedly in critical condition when they were transported. Witnesses claimed that the lights were not working at the crossing at Kerlikowski Road in Coloma Township at about 9:30, when the train came through. Officials claim the lights were working.

There are no gates at that crossing. No one on board the train, which was headed from Grand Rapids to Chicago, was injured.

It’s being investigated.
