UNDATED (WKZO) -- Hostess is closing up shop. The maker of Twinkies, Cupcakes, Hos Hos and Wonder Bread is liquidating because of a worker strike that wouldn't end.
Local stores have quickly been running out of their products as nostalgia seekers go for one more sugar rush. There are reports of some boxes of the cupcakes and Twinkies selling for as much as $100 on E-bay.
Diane Kimberly picketed outside a plant in Los Angeles and says she feels like she's disappointing America, because they will no long be able to buy and enjoy the treats.
The Texas-based company's workforce is made up of 381 at a bakerys and warehouses in Michigan, and more than 18-thousand people nationwide. Hostess said retail stores will remain open for a couple of days to sell already baked goodies. But there will be no new shipments.
