LANSING (WKZO) -- The official state of Michigan Christmas tree will be lit Friday evening on the lawn of the state Capitol.

The tree lighting is the key event of the annual Silver Bells In The City in downtown Lansing.  This is the 28th year for the event, which includes the Electric Light Parade.

This year's tree stands 75-feet tall, and is a fir that was harvested in Jackson.
