TAMPA, FLA (1660 THE FAN) - Western Michigan used a scoring spurt late in the 2nd half, as they defeated Loyola-Chicago 81-71 Friday in game one of the South Florida MTE. Senior forward Nate Hutcheson scored 30 points, including 6 three point shots, to lead all scorers, as WMU shot 59.1% in the second half to keep the Ramblers at bay. The Broncos also hit 11 of 19 three-point shots, as they move to 2-1 on the young season. Next up for Coach Steve Hawkins' Broncos is a meeting with Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday.
