SHERIDAN (WKZO) -- The treasurer of Sheridan Township in northeast Calhoun County has been arrested and is expected to be formally charged with embezzlement of taxpayer funds.  Investigators allege she has siphoned over 80-thousand dollars in the last two years.

Treasurer Linda Lewis has been under investigation since the spring, but since the only way to remove an elected official is to recall her or convict her, she has remained on the job, under supervision.  She may keep her job after Tuesday, unless a write-in candidate can unseat her.  She is running unopposed for re-election.
