Michigan absentee voting deadline approaches

LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan voters still have time to cast absentee ballots in person.

Residents wanting to cast absentee ballots have two options after picking them up at a local clerk's office.  They may fill their ballot out on the spot and return it to the clerk.  Voters who want to spend a little bit of time may take their ballot home and return it by 4:00 p.m. on Election Day.

In order to qualify to vote absentee, voters must inform the clerk that they are prohibited by religion or physically unable to get to the polls, appointed as an elections worker in a precinct away from their home precinct, 60 years or older, or confined to jail awaiting arraignment or trial.
