KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Kalamazoo Promise certainly helps remove cost from the equation when high schoolers transition into college, but there are other sources of assistance, too.
The Kalamazoo Community Foundation is approaching an application deadline for a number of scholarships for future college students.
"We have 51 scholarships that cover tuition and fees, room and board, books and transportation and personal expenses," the foundation's Carol Carter told WKZO. "If you're tuition is paid for, our scholarships can fill the gap."
A December 1, 2012 deadline is in place for applications to be received. Applicants will then navigate process of being considered for the scholarships.
