BARRY COUNTY (WKZO) -- He was a pro-ball player and is a man of deeply held convictions, a role model and the Barry County Prosecutor says he’s a sex offender.
Chad Curtis, former Tiger and New York Yankee is free on a quarter million dollars bond after he was charged with five counts of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly touching at least two female student athletes inappropriately during what were supposed to be therapeutic sessions.
Curtis was a volunteer at Lakewood Schools, working in the weight room and helping with athlete conditioning. He is charged with 5 counts of CSC in the 2nd 3rd and 4th degree.
He denies he did anything wrong. He was signed up to become the schools football coach this fall but he has resigned.
