DETROIT (WKZO) -- U.S. automakers are putting on third shifts and canceling summer re-tooling breaks to meet the demand for new cars, but Kelley Blue Book reports that Toyota is also making a rapid comeback and the company is poised to retake its place as the number-two best-seller in the U.S., supplanting Ford. Toyota suffered a one-two punch to its bottom line when sudden accelerations and other recalls shook their image as a top quality automaker in 2010, and then the tsunami in 2011 crippled its manufacturing capabilities.
