WASHINGTON (WKZO) -- Senator Debbie Stabenow says new legislation in Washington is being worked on concerning women's health when it comes to prescription drugs and other medical safety issues.
In a conference call with reporters, Stabenow said Thursday that sometimes women react differently than men to some drugs or devices and more thorough research needs to be done. She says men and women are not always represented equally in clinical trials. She says it's especially common when it comes to cardiovascular disease, with one 2007 study showing 75-percent of clinical trials don't report gender specific results.
