SAUGATUCK (WKZO) -- Democratic Congressional Candidate Mike O’Brien is demanding that Congressman Fred Upton stop using his official franking privileges to mail out campaign material.

It follows media reports that that a recent mailing from Upton’s Washington office touting his pro-gun support for the 2nd Amendment seems to be more self-promotion than constituent education.

The mailer drew criticism from democrats and at least one independent watchdog group. But it also cleared the congressional office assigned to review such materials. O’Brien says Upton should reimburse taxpayers for the cost. Upton says it’s a legitimate mailer from his office to his constituents.
