LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan Court of Appeals has issued their decision on the legality of the state-appointed financial review teams that investigated the finances of Detroit and Flint. Solicitor General John Bursch said the court found those review teams were not required to follow the state's Open Meetings Act.
A lawsuit filed by Highland Park School Board member and activist Robert Davis and union official Edward McNeil argued those committees needed to have public access to their meetings. They are opposed to the appointment of an emergency manager for Flint and the consent agreement for Detroit.
