KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo Public Safety officers have arrested a man they claim forced his way into one of the units at Cooper Apartments on Pearl Street late Saturday Night and set the place on fire. He is being held for home invasion and arson.

They aren’t saying why the 29-year-old Chicago man felt compelled to commit the potentially disastrous act. Fortunately fire crews were able to quickly respond to the 400 block of Pearl and quickly put out the flames, containing the fire and limiting the damage to the kitchen area in that one apartment.
