KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kalamazoo City Commissioners are expected to approve rezoning requests at Cambridge and Emerald Drive to allow Dimplex Inc. to expand their plant. They have closed their California plant and are consolidating their operations in Kalamazoo. The firm makes all kinds of cooling units for all sorts of applications.

The firm plans to buy the Credit Union next door, knock it down and replace it with a 50-square foot building that will employ as many as 100 new employees.

The company currently has 180 employees.
