GRAND RAPIDS (WHTC) - Michigan State Police have confirmed that they are investigating the case of Matt Mojzak, the young man who initially announced he was running as a Democrat in the 76th District state House race, then suddenly withdrew his candidacy. Mojzak entered the race right about the same time it was announced that incumbent Representative Roy Schmidt of Grand Rapids was switching his party affiliation to the Republicans. In his election affidavit, Mojzak claimed he had been a Kent County resident for 22 years, but his father says Mojzak lived in their home in Ottawa County’s Tallmadge Township until about a year ago.
