The Australian actress gave birth to Scout Edie on Wednesday (09May12) and a spokesperson for the couple confirms both mum and baby are healthy and well.

The representative says, ""It is with much joy and pride that Jessica Marais and James Stewart announce the birth of their baby girl, Scout Edie Stewart.""

It was recently confirmed that Stewart will bow out of the show to become a stay-at-home dad.

The engaged couple, who played onscreen lovers in the award-winning drama series, plan to marry later this year (12).
