KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Kyle Mena is a familiar name to Kalamazoo. A 2004 graduate of Portage Northern High School, Mena set the blistering pace for the day, and ran away with the 2012 men’s 5k championship. Mena said he used this event as a training tool for upcoming marathons.

Chelsea Fuller is a Detroit native. Fuller took the 2012 women’s 5k title just minutes after Kyle Mena finished. Fuller noted the course was intense, but she enjoyed the challenge.
