PARCHMENT (WKZO) --  Petition language has been submitted to the Kalamazoo County Clerk’s office calling for the recall of the entire Parchment School Board over the arrest of Asst. Principal John Thompson and specifically the decision to let him work after his arrest but prior to his arraignment. 

Thompson is charged with violating the state’s super drunk law and fleeing and eluding Richland Police.

School officials say they are limited by the law and by policy in handling personnel matters that deal with privacy rights, and they have been following what those laws and policies dictate.

The County Elections Commission has scheduled a May 17th clarity hearing to review the language, and if it’s deemed clear enough, petitioners would have to collect enough enough signatures of registered to force a recall election.
