STURGIS, MI (WTVB) - Branch County authorities have been told to remain on the lookout for a suspect who remains at large following a meth lab explosion late Wednesday night in Sturgis Township.

The incident in the 23-thousand block of U-S-12 forced the evacuation of several apartments in the complex where the explosion occurred. No injuries were reported. One man was taken into custody Wednesday night.

The St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit was called to the scene to remove the meth lab and waste. The suspect still being sought is already named on outstanding warrants for an unrelated incident.
