Corbin Bleu is headed back into the spotlight in a big way. Best known for his role of Chad Danforth in High School Musical, the 23-year-old star will once again showcase his singing and dancing talents — this time on Broadway — when he takes over the lead role in Godspell starting April 17.

Variety reports Bleu will play Jesus in the Bible-inspired musical after his predecessor, Hunter Parrish, departs for Los Angeles to begin filming the next season of the Showtime hit series Weeds.

This will be Bleu's second debut on the great white way, having already performed in the Broadway musical In the Heights in 2010. And while he hasn't accumulated much fame since his HSM days, his presence could become a massive draw for the theater community. As already seen in the teen music franchise, this guy has some skills.
