LANSING (WKZO)  --  The Michigan House has approved a bill sponsored by Portage Rep. Margaret O’Brien that would exempt brand new homes from property taxes until they are sold.  She says it should encourage new construction by relieving the builder of an additional cost until a buyer comes along.She says the bill got bipartisan support, passing 74 to 33.  It now goes to the State Senate for their consideration.
