KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Former Kalamazoo Pastor Milton Wells has been given 7 to 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a girl under 13 and inappropriately touching a second one.

The mothers of both girls talked of betrayal of trust and anger during their victim impact statement, and Wells apologized prior to sentencing.

Wells was not only the Pastor at Open Door Ministry but also Director of a Criminal Justice program that helped Prison inmates find jobs once they have done their sentences.

He had initially been charged with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and multiple counts in the 2nd degree, but they were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea to 2nd and 3rd degree CSC.
