LANSING (WKZO) -- Flags are at half-staff in Michigan this Monday in honor of former state Senator Joe Young Jr. He died of a heart attack June 12th and served more than 20 years in the state House and Senate. From 1983 to 1992, Young and his father Joe Young Sr. were both in the Legislature and made history as the first black father and son to serve in the Legislature simultaneously.
