DETROIT, MI (WKZO) - It's a rivalry that goes back to the beginning days of baseball...Detroit and St. Louis have met in more than a few World Series, and with interleague play, they've gotten to know each other even more. Tuesday night, the Cardinals were in Comerica Park to face Justin Verlander and the Tigers...and those vaunted bats that Detroit is rumored to have finally showed up. Tiger hitters teed off on one of baseball's best pitchers, Lance Lynn, driving him out of the game in the 5th behind 9 hits and 5 runs. Detroit took the game 6-3, with Verlander picking up his 6th win of the campaign, and Delmon Young knocking in 2 runs with 2 hits in 4 plate appearances. Game 2 of the set is Wednesday, with broadcast time on AM 590 WKZO at 6:40 pm.
