Chicago, IL (WKZO) - The Cubs lost today against the Boston Red Sox 4-3. Despite getting three runs in the 7th, it was not enough to help Chicago win this one. The Sox managed to maintain a 4-0 lead until the 7th.

The Cubs, who have lost 8 of their past 11 games, started off strong with pitcher Jon Lester. Jarrod Saltalmacchia had two hits with a two run homer thrown by Jeff Samardzija in the fourth.

For the Cubs, Luis Valbuena had a three run homer in the 7th with his first it for Chicago.Unfortunately they were not able to maintain the push.
