Fielder secures game 2 of Reds sweep for the Tigers

Cincinnati, OH - (WKZO) Detroit won their game against Cincinnati 3-2 today, bringing the series to a 1-1 tie. With Ramon Santiago hitting a homer in the top of the 2nd, Prince Fielder secured a home run with a two-out single in the eighth inning, getting the Tigers out of the 2-2 tie.

The Tigers’ Villareal pitched a scoreless seventh with Joaquin Benoit pitching a perfect eighth.The Reds’ were able to the tie the game in the fourth off of Heisey’s single, along with Votto’s hit that left Young being played into a double, as well as a two-out single from Todd Frazier. Verlander threw 127 pitches, second place to the 131 he threw on April 16th. Verlander allowed six hits and two runs, with three walks and nine strikeouts, in six innings.

Game three of the series is set for broadcast at 8pm on WKZO AM 590, from the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio. Drew Smyly starting for Detroit.
