CINCINNATI, OH (WKZO) - Detroit began round two of interleague play in the Queen City, as they faced the NL Central-leading Reds. Down 4-1, the Tigers came back to tie the game, then took the lead in the 8th on a solo home run by Delmon Young. Cincinnati tied it up in the bottom of the 8th, and in the bottom of the 10th, pinch hitter Wilson Valdez put down a perfect safety squeeze, scoring Miguel Cairo from 3rd, and giving the Reds the 6-5 win. Starter Rick Porcello went only five innings, and Phil Coke took the loss in relief. Game 2 is set for Saturday afternoon...broadcast time on AM 590 WKZO is 3:45 pm.
