CLEVELAND (1660 THE FAN) – The Mid-American Conference released the 2012 television schedule. Highlighted by four appearances on the ESPN family of networks, Western Michigan will also play once on the Big Ten Network.

Playing all of their games on Saturday, the Broncos open their 2012 campaign in Illinois on September 1st. Their season opener holds importance for many reasons. Tim Knox, the former Director of Football Operations, now holds that position with the Illini. Illinois escaped in 2011 with a 23-20 win over the Broncos, so there will be a measure of revenge when the teams kick off at 12 pm on ESPNU.

Other matchups that will air on ESPN’s network are at Connecticut and hosting Northern Illinois. “The Battle for the Cannon” in Mt Pleasant will air on ESPN 3.

Western travels to Minnesota on September 15th to battle the Golden Gophers on the Big Ten Network.

Kick off times for all of the remaining non-televised games will be announced next week. Click here for the full list of televised game times.
