DETROIT (WKZO) -- State and local officials met with Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood Monday with their laundry list of questions and concerns about the proposed M-1 light rail project in Detroit. Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and Governor Snyder, along with Roger Penske, chairman of the M-1 project, were among those offering up questions primarily pertaining to costs.
LaHood indicated that he supports the project however fell short of making any commitment for federal grants. The rail line would run from downtown Detroit to the New Center area.
