DETROIT, MI (1660 THE FAN) - It might have taken half the game, but Detroit managed to send the Angels packing this evening with a final score of 8-6. By the fifth inning the score was 5-2 and things weren't looking great for the Tigers, but a labored series of singles throughout the second half of the game (and a two-run tie-breaking homer from Brennan Boesch) flipped the scale and led the team to victory.

By the bottom of the 7th, Tigers had the lead and held onto it, with Quintin Berry driving in one more single in the 8th. Los Angeles' Torii Hunter put up the biggest fight, driving in three runs, but to no avail.

Tomorrow, the four-game series continues on AM 590 WKZO; pregame show is on at 6:40 PM.
